2014 TAETEA Menghai Star Shu Pu'er Cake | Pu'er Tea

Menghai Star is a long-running shu pu’er within the TAETEA portfolio, produced in 2014 using blended large-leaf Yunnan material. Teas under this name were intended to represent a dependable Menghai-style shu rather than a special or limited release.

By this period, Dayi’s shu production had shifted toward cleaner fermentation and improved consistency. The focus was on producing a tea that was immediately drinkable, while remaining stable enough to benefit from additional rest.

The liquor is dark and steady, with a rounded body and integrated sweetness. The profile favors cohesion over complexity, making it well suited to regular brewing rather than analytical tasting.

Within the Dayi system, Menghai Star functions as a reference point — a way to understand what mature, factory-produced shu was meant to taste like when executed without excess.
