Alishan Hoge Berg Oolong oolong thee

Alishan 阿里山乌龙 — high-mountain oolong from the plantations around Ali Mountain in Taiwan, around 1300 to 1600 metres. Limited sun, cool nights, and spring-water irrigation shape a lightly oxidised and roasted cup that stays buttery and vegetal rather than heavy.

We find floral and vegetal fragrance with a refreshing, smooth liquor and a tender sweet finish. The leaves are sun-withered, edged to start oxidation, fired, rolled into small balls, dried, then roasted just enough for a richer taste without burying the mountain lift.

This is the Alishan we keep as a calm Taiwanese high-mountain everyday — buttery and clean, the kind of oolong that shows why altitude still matters on Formosa.

Grootte:

This Alishan Oolong is sourced directly from the high mountain tea plantations around Alishan Mountain, located at an altitude between 1,300 and 1,600 metres. Limited sunshine hours, large temperature difference between day and night, irrigation from mountain spring water each make their own contribution to this tea’s charming buttery, vegetal aroma and elegant taste.

Alishan Oolong is a lightly oxidised and roasted Oolong variety that is both refreshing and pleasant. The dry tea leaves are tightly knotted, hemispherical, with large grains and stalks. After brewing, you will be able to see the leaves unfold into one bud with two distinct leaves, and to appreciate the fine blend of green and golden colours.
