Tea farm location: Fujian

Chrysanthemum tea is a type of herbal tea made from the dried flowers of the chrysanthemum plant. It is a popular tea back home in China, from grandpas and auntie to kids drink them at work, while driving, and also on the dinner table, cold or warm brewed.

Since we came to Europe, we were exposed to its counterpart here: Chamomile flowers. We have to say that when revisiting our Chrysanthemum tea after a decade of living here, we realize why it was so widely consumed back home. Instead of herbal tea bags, our Chrysanthemum tea is served with the whole tea flower, a zen moment for the eye. It doesn't have the very strong herbal/medicinal/aged taste that one would expect after familiarise with Chamomile tea here. Instead, there is slight hints of mint, white tea texture and sweet aftertaste.

According to Chinese traditional medicine, it is thought to relief heat in the body, reducing inflammation, improving digestion, and boosting the immune system. The tea is also said to have calming properties and is used to relieve stress and anxiety.

Overall, chrysanthemum tea is a fragrant, caffeine free and flavorful tea that is enjoyed for its light, floral taste and refreshing aroma. We encourage you to tryout this 'Chinese Chamomile'.

Chrysanthemum tea is made from the dried flowers of the chrysanthemum plant, which is native to Asia and widely cultivated in regions such as China, Korea, and Japan.

The flowers are typically harvested in the late summer or early fall, when they are at their peak of bloom. The flowers are picked by hand and then sorted and inspected for quality.

Drying: The flowers are dried in the sun or using a dehydrator to remove moisture and preserve their color and fragrance.
