Description
A classic Shuiping (水平) teapot — clean, proportional, and precise.
This form follows the traditional Yixing-style silhouette, defined by its level lid, straight spout alignment, and balanced horizontal profile. In this version, it is crafted entirely from Chaozhou hongni clay, giving it a slightly lighter body and faster responsiveness compared to typical Yixing zisha.
The spout delivers a fast, direct pour, making it well suited for gongfucha sessions with short, controlled infusions. The rounded chamber allows leaves to expand evenly while maintaining strong heat retention.
Structured. Functional. Focused on brewing performance.
The Artist
Yu Zewei is a fifth-generation inheritor of traditional Chaozhou hand-pulled pottery. Raised in a ceramic family workshop, he learned the craft from a young age and works fully by hand using traditional pulling and shaping techniques. His teapots emphasize clean lines, structural balance, and practical usability for daily gongfu brewing.
