About the Potter – Yu Haibiao (余海标)
Yu Haibiao is a Chaozhou-based potter dedicated to the craft of gongfu teapots. With decades of practice, he specializes in wheel-thrown red clay teapots characterized by thin walls, fine balance, and elegant simplicity. His works have been exhibited in tea culture competitions and awarded at national-level craft exhibitions. Rooted in the Chaozhou tradition, his pots are made to be lived with — understated in decoration, yet precise in proportion, always serving the tea first.
