Chaozhou Shipiao Hongni Teapot 110ml

€159,90

This teapot shows the elegance of restraint. Its low, wide body rests close to the table, with smooth surfaces and a precise, almost architectural balance between lid, spout, and handle. The handle, carved in a distinctive almond-shaped loop, gives the pot a sculptural presence while keeping it firmly practical for brewing.

Made of hongni (红泥, red clay) from Chaozhou, the walls are thin and lively, well-suited to gongfu-style brewing of fragrant teas. The clay dissipates heat quickly, preserving higher aromatic notes in delicate leaves such as Phoenix Dancong oolong, while still softening and rounding the liquor’s texture.

This piece is the work of Yu Haibiao (余海标), a potter recognized for his skill in traditional Chaozhou wheel-thrown teapots. His works have received awards in regional and national competitions, reflecting both fidelity to tradition and individual refinement in form.
