A fully handmade Shi Yuan (柿圆) Yixing teapot crafted from Huanglongshan Zini (黄龙山紫泥) clay.
The Shi Yuan (Persimmon Round) is a classic Yixing form inspired by the shape of a ripe persimmon. Its gently rounded body, low profile, and balanced proportions create a silhouette that feels both substantial and elegant. This piece embodies the quiet refinement of traditional Yixing craftsmanship, with a seamlessly fitted lid, naturally flowing spout, and circular handle that come together in a harmonious and understated design suited for years of daily use.
The clay used is Huanglongshan Zini, a purple clay known for its fine texture, excellent breathability, and ability to soften and round tea liquor over years of use. Initially presenting a rich plum-purple tone, the surface gradually develops a deeper sheen as the pot accumulates use and care.
At approximately 150ml, it occupies a versatile middle ground—large enough for sharing tea with friends while remaining ideal for gongfu-style brewing.
Particularly suitable for: Wuyi Yancha, Dancong Oolong, Traditional Tie Guan Yin, Aged White Tea, Sheng Pu'er, Shu Pu'er.
