Osmanthus Bloemen Kruidenthee

桂花 — dried osmanthus from Fujian, the classic Chinese autumn bloom. The flowers are picked by hand and dried so the perfume holds in the cup: apricot, grape and honey, with a tender sweet finish.

This is a Chinese herbal flower tea in its own right — steeped alone as a clear, scented cup, poured beside dessert, or set with food when you want fragrance without bitterness. It also sits easily next to other teas when you want a little perfume in the session.

We keep this Fujian lot because autumn guihua should smell like this: sweet, precise, and ready for the table as much as for the teapot.

Osmanthus is een soort bloeiende plant die oorspronkelijk uit Azië komt, nostalgisch is en herinneringen oproept aan onze kindertijd. Wij willen die herinneringen met jou delen.

Het staat bekend om zijn zoete, geurige aroma, dat vaak wordt beschreven als bloemig met hints van abrikoos of perzik. Such a multipurpose flower with a great power!

Osmanthus flowers are just incredible! They have that very strong flavor or sweet dried apricots, and they transform everything they touch with their magic. I love to start my day enjoying some hot water infused with a bit of fresh ginger, a slice of orange and a small scoop of these flowers. The flavor combo is to die for. You get a lot of them in the package and they are great quality, a little goes a long way! And in an iced brew they make for amazing cocktails and refreshing drinks in summer.

Wow that sounds like a great recipe! We agree, Osmanthus flower is very multifaceted! It's usually used in many Chinese dessert with rice ball soups and so on :)
