A red tea from the same Shifeng farm where we sourced this year’s Long Jing — showing a completely different side of the same tea, produced later in the spring season.
Jiuqu Hongmei is a historic Zhejiang black tea known for its curled leaves and elegant fragrance. This year, the aroma was especially striking: floral honey, red fruit and warm sugar notes layered over a clean mineral backbone.
Compared to heavier red teas, this batch stays lifted and refined, given it's high picking standard. The liquor is smooth and sweet without becoming thick, making it easy to drink for long sessions.
What we love most is the connection to place: the same terroir responsible for some of China’s most prized green tea can also produce red tea with remarkable clarity and fragrance.
